Who We Are

Our History

Scott Balsiger founded Heroes News Network due to his close affiliation with the Military and the American Legion.

Scott enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Macdonough DDG39 and the USS Hunley AS31. After transitioning back to civilian life Scott joined the Blackduck American Legion. Scott’s father, William Balsiger, held the position of Commander at the Blackduck for two terms. His Grandfather, Roy Balsiger was also a past Commander of the Legion.

Scott is a member of The American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Fleet Reserve Association. He believed there was a need to provide information and resources to Veterans as well as facilitate a way for our Heroes to learn about businesses that provide products and services for them.

The Heroes News Network is broadcast in over 400 Veteran Service Organizations across America. Our programming provides information, resources and entertainment that Veterans enjoy every day.

Our Mission

Heroes News Network is dedicated to connecting active and retired heroes with organizations and businesses who provide resources and services for them.

OUR VALUES:

Duty – Just as our veterans answered their nation’s call of duty, we believe it is our duty to preserve their stories for future generations.

Honor – We believe that our veterans deserve to be honored by all those they liberated and protected.

Sacrifice – Our veterans have sacrificed so much to secure our liberties and safety, and deserve to be remembered for those sacrifices.

Preservation – The veterans who have served us in so many ways deserve to have their actions preserved and immortalized, that they may not be forgotten, and that others may not have to repeat their heroic actions

OUR GOAL:

Educate and raise awareness among the general public about the active duty military, veterans, police officers, 1st responders and teachers who work for a better community by promoting the values of duty, honor, sacrifice and patriotism.

Veteran Service

Scott is also on the board of directors of Helping American Heroes, a 501c3 nonprofit (www.hahusa.org).

Helping American Heroes is committed to supporting America’s Veterans, Teachers, Police, Fire Fighters and EMT’s.

From The President

 Dear Friends,

If you have explored this site already you may have some idea of the work the Heroes News Network is doing and how they are honoring Veterans who served in conflicts such as World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. Through the ever-increasing nationwide broadcast programming that we offer, we hope to give back to our veterans the honor and gratitude that they so quietly deserve.

To this end, Heroes News Network has taken it upon itself to honor the sacrifices of those who have fought to protect the freedoms we enjoy today. Our programs are designed to preserve and perpetuate the legacies of our nation’s heroes to the younger generations who will soon take on the responsibility of safeguarding the freedom for which they fought so long ago.

Thank you again for all your support. We encourage you to join us in this important and urgent cause, while remembering those who served.
